Conduit: a weird concept phone
Published by Maria Mihale
Concept phones are most of the times characterized by unbelievable silhouettes, which people could easily consider too audacious for the concrete possibilities of the technology. However, something like this is possible because designers have one purpose and one purpose only in their minds: to catch the attention of potential customers. In addition, there’s no reason for them to limit their imagination.
Now, if you were longing for some amazing concept phones to amaze you, then let me introduce to you a new device that is as peculiar as an unidentified flying object landing in your backyard. Known under the name of Conduit, this concept phone, designed by Tirshathah Hunter, is in fact a two-in-one communication device.
This means that the Conduit is a mixture of a mobile workstation and a phone, dressed in a stunning gold outfit. The concept was especially created for Sky/Pantech, a South Korea-based cell phone company, but we don’t know whether it will ever hit the mass production or not.
The Conduit is equipped with a flexible display that can be rolled away in order to generate a PDA provided with a stylus. In addition, you have here a normal mobile phone with a camera phone that can be detached from other modules. There’s no keypad included, which means that you’ll have to use the scroll tool or the voice commands if you want to make a phone call or to text a message.
It’s quite innovative, you got that right, but I’m afraid we won’t get to put our hands on such a weird concept phone in the near future.
