Chinese Mummy

The picture above shows one of the five mummies excavated from a pit lies at a construction site. His braid trailing across rubble.




Shanshan County, China, January 6, 2009--His braid trailing across rubble, one of five male mummies lies next to the pit where he and his counterparts were recently found during construction work in northwestern China.

According to state media, the ethnic Han men lived during the Qing dynasty (A.D. 1644 to 1911).
